RulesUpdated 15 AUG 2026

Short list. Enforced.

The server is meant to be hostile. These keep it hostile in the game and nowhere else.

Placeholder rules — replace lib/data/rules.ts

Conduct

DangerZone is hostile by design. That is a gameplay setting, not a licence to be vile to people.

  • No hate speech, slurs, or targeted harassment in chat, on Discord, or in usernames and builds.

    Permanent ban.

  • No threats, doxxing, or attempts to move a conflict off the server and into someone's real life.

    Permanent ban.

  • Trash talk is fine. Keep it about the game.

  • Staff decisions are final in the moment. Appeal afterwards in Discord, not in chat.

Fair play

The only advantage worth having is the one you earned. Everything that removes skill from the equation is banned.

  • No hacked clients, kill aura, reach, auto-clickers, X-ray, or any modification that reveals information the vanilla client cannot.

    Permanent ban.

  • Performance and quality-of-life mods are allowed: Sodium, Lithium, Iris, minimaps without entity radar, and inventory tweaks that do not automate combat.

  • No exploiting duplication bugs, item voids, or unintended server behaviour. Report it and you keep your account; use it and you do not.

    Rollback and ban.

  • One account per player. Alternate accounts used to farm resources, dodge lockouts, or scout are treated as one ban.

    All linked accounts banned.

Hardcore & lockouts

Death removes you from the world for 1 hour. Nothing about that is negotiable.

  • When you die you are disconnected and cannot rejoin for 1 hour. Your account, your builds, and your balance are untouched.

  • Your inventory drops where you died and stays there. Anyone can take it, including the player who killed you.

  • Lockouts are not reduced, refunded, or appealed — including for lag, disconnects, or a bad fight.

  • Deliberately killing yourself to reset your position, escape a fight, or dodge a raid is a lockout you chose. It still counts on the deaths board.

World, raiding & theft

This is an open world. Raiding is part of it — deleting someone's season for fun is not.

  • PvP is enabled everywhere outside spawn. There are no safe zones you have not built yourself.

  • Raiding, stealing, and breaking into a base are allowed. Scorched-earth griefing — lava casting, mass TNT on an inactive base, obsidian-boxing a player — is not.

    Rollback and temporary ban.

  • Do not build within 500 blocks of another player's established base without their agreement.

  • Lag machines, unattended mob farms left running, and world-eating redstone will be removed without warning.

Trading & economy

The economy is player-run. Scamming is a strategy right up until it stops being one.

  • Deals made in-game are between players. Staff do not reverse trades, refund bad deals, or arbitrate handshake agreements.

  • Impersonating another player or a staff member to secure a trade is fraud, not a play.

    Permanent ban.

  • No real-money trading. Accounts, items, balances, and land may not be sold for currency outside the server.

    Permanent ban.

  • Shops must sell what they advertise. Misleading signage is treated as a scam.

Enforcement

How this is actually applied.

  • Punishments scale with intent and damage. A first mistake is usually a warning; a deliberate one usually is not.

  • Evidence matters. Clip it, screenshot it, and report it in Discord rather than arguing in chat.

  • These rules cover intent, not every case. Staff will act on the spirit of them where the letter runs out.

  • Rules can change between seasons. Material changes are announced in Discord before they take effect.
